History

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) Christian Network started in 2019 as a small Christian Fellowship group to support each other balancing work life with our faith.Through the pandemic the fellowship has seen exponential growth that has necessitated formalising the group into a staff network. Karen Flood, a Consultant Vascular Interventional Radiologist for the Trust, joined the group at the right time and has been instrumental in overseeing the transition of the group to a network. The network is a great place to be, connecting both medical and non-medical Christian staff across the trust. The network has a WhatsApp group where prayer requests and praise reports are shared, enabling members to stand with each other in difficult times and celebrate successes together. A drop-in prayer meeting happens every Tuesday lunch-time where members meet for prayer and fellowship.Karen is also volunteering with the Christian Medical Fellowship (a national charity that aims to unite and equip Christian doctors and nurses to live and speak for Jesus) to help set up similar networks in NHS trusts across the country. It is a privilege that our network is already making a national impact. The Revd Lizzy Woolf (pictured with Karen), Rector at St George’s said, “We love hearing stories of Christian faith making a difference in the workplace.” The online interview between Karen and Lizzy can be viewed here on YouTube.
